Hey guys. I know some of you guys don't know my story of Lacuna Coil. I am here to show you guys exactly why I love this band and why they are so dear to me.
To make a long story short, I learned about Lacuna Coil from Dawn in Pittsburgh. We had to take a two-hour detour home because the road was closed. She told me she wanted me to listen to a band who was a lot better than my current obsession, Evanescence. She also wanted me to listen to the girl who had a much better voice and was a lot hotter than Amy Lee.
I forgot what song I listened to first, I believe it was Senzafine. I fell in love with them instantly. With the combination of amazing vocals with powerful guitars, it was love at first listen. I asked Dawn the name of the band and she told me it was an Italian band called Lacuna Coil. So, I downloaded Angel's Punishment and Shallow End (SE was recorded when the band was called Etheral.)
I fell in so much love with the band. After I moved back to Pittsburgh, I bought every CD Lacuna Coil has put out since the Lacuna Coil EP. It is such an amazing thing to hear the very believable transition and evolution of Lacuna Coil.
I love Lacuna Coil for many reasons. The music is very beautifully written. The way each instrument is played is amazing and very well-polished. They guitars alone pull you into the music, and that is not even adding the vocals!
The vocals of Andrea Ferro and Cristina Scabbia is absolutly memorizing. Andrea brings the more of the growling, metal scream that is found in the metal world. However, Cristina is the one who balances it all out. She is a very powerful alto voice who has amazing skills
The lyrics, which are co-written mainly by Cristina and Andrea are really amazing. They speak the most to me because it describes situations in my life. When I heard Angel's Punishment for the first time, I couldn't stop listening to it because it spoke my emotions at that time. For it not even being their native language, I am very impressed by the lyrical ability of Cristina and Andrea.
My favorite member in the band is definatly Cristina. She brings such a powerful addition and a fresh face to the metal world. Whenever I hear her sing, even now, it brings up a surge of energy unlike anything I have ever heard. I fall into a place where I just soak in everything she sings and speaks.
Cristina is a very sexy woman because she carries herself unlike any person, male or female, in the metal world today. She carries herself with an edge and a freshness I have not seen in many artists. She, along with the rest of the band, are great to their fans as well. You can not ask for people who are more grateful and do more for their fans than Lacuna Coil.
I have many favorite songs of Lacuna Coil. There is too many to list, lol. However, some of my favorites include: To Myself I Turned, Our Truth, Self-Deception, Falling Again, Hyperfast, 1:19, Swamped, To Live is To Hide, Heir of A Dying Day, Daylight Dancer, Circle, and Cold. There are so many to list but so little room to write.
I hope you all can understand why I love this band so much. You have no idea how excited I am for Karmacode to come out April 4th! It is so exciting to be waiting with other Coilers for the new album. Please listen to Lacuna Coil and you will understand why this band is amazing. Also, go buy the album too!
